What Makes You Want To Write?
This post if for my readers who also happen to be authors. If you are like me, you have that one song that has the right music, the right beat, that gets your fingers moving across the keyboard. One song that gets me writing, (because I write books mainly about bad relationships) is The Worst by Jhene` Aiko.
I am greatly inspired by different genres of music. I pick the type of music that matches my mood. Nothing special.
If I am in a real pissy mood, I pick a song that matches that. (It seems like this mood helps me to write some of my best scenes by the way :)
What kind of music do you write to?
What makes you want to write?
Please share your comments below.
Until next time,
P.S. Have you joined my mailing list yet? If you haven't already, what are you waiting for? Sign up here. I'm giving away something special just for joining me.

Three Ways To Succeed At Self-Publishing
Self-Publishing can be a pain in the butt.
You not only have to write a good book, but now you have to promote it, get people to buy it, ship copies to the readers, etc, etc.
The faint at heart will be ready to give up and throw in the towel at the drop of a hat.
Making the decision to self-publish can be scary.
There is always some level of uncertainty.
You wonder if people will really like your book, or will people like it enough to turn your words into a best seller.
There are three ways that you as an author can succeed at self-publishing, and they are as follows:
Know your audience from the beginning. Who did you write your book for? Knowing the answer to this question will save you a ton of heartache and pain in the end.
Write a good story. You would be surprised at the number of people who will write a boatload of crap and then get upset when they sadly discover that either no one wants to read it, or the story sucked all together.
Be prepared to face rejection. The reality of this business is that if you want to succeed, you have to have a tough skin. There are going to be some people who are going to tell you no. They don't want your book, they don't want to sell it in their stores, and so on and so forth. The reality is that you have to take it with a grain of salt and keep pushing on until you get to a yes.
So, if your dream is to succeed at self-publishing, develop your tough skin, learn to handle rejection and get to know your audience. Doing so will make your dream of becoming a best-selling, self-published author, that much more attainable.
Do you have a book that you would like to self-publish? Consider purchasing 'The Blueprint' , a user friendly guide which breaks down the entire process of self-publishing from start to finish. This manual was put together out of a need to educate people on the right way to get started in the publishing industry and avoid many of the pitfalls I endured when I published my first book.
You can learn more and download your own copy here.

Stop Limiting Yourself
Why thinking small can hold back your success
Many people who follow me online don't know that I am more than an author.
I am also a personal enrichment coach.
My goal is to help people get rid of a fear mentality so that they can experience true success.
Many times we limit ourselves because of the way we think.
We talk our self out of things because we don't really believe that we can have the things that we really want.
Why is that?
Why is it so hard to accept that you don't have to be a failure.
You can be a success in life.
You don't have to struggle; in fact, you were not created to struggle.
You were created to succeed.
Success is in your hands, but you have to decide that you want it.
No one reaches the top of the staircase by standing at the bottom, staring at the top, and doing nothing to get there.
You have to actually climb the stairs.
Most people fail because they don't have a support system in place.
They lack encouragement.
For some, you have never heard that you can do whatever you put your mind to; instead you have been told that you will never amount to anything.
And because you were never told what you could do, you believed the naysayers.
While some lack encouragement, others lack a game plan.
They have no vision, no blueprint, nothing in place to outline how they plan to get from point A to point B.
Without a vision, the people perish.
So how do you get a vision? How do you plan out your life so that you attract success into it, rather than failure?
How do you silence the naysayers that will say to you that you will never amount to anything? How do you prove them wrong?
The answer lies within the pages of my new book, 'Break Free: how to overcome your fears and finally live life on purpose.'
And I am giving it away for free to my readers!
There are three things that are true about fear.- Fear hinders.
- Fear stops you.
- Fear arrests you and holds your dreams hostage.
Are you ready to silence the naysayers and move forward towards your visions and goals?
If you are truly ready to make a change in your life, click here.
Until next time,
P.S. If you found this post helpful or encouraging, please share it with your friends and those you hold dear.

Why Being Your Own Boss Sucks
Sometimes life as an entrepreneur can get pretty lonely
I have been in business for myself for quite some time now, and I will have to be honest with you.Sometimes it sucks.
Why do I say that?
Well, for a few reasons.
One, it is a huge misconception for you to believe that being your own boss will be all fine and dandy because it won't.
Especially not when you are just getting started in business.
While being an entrepreneur does have it perks, it also has its downside.
First, you are NOT guaranteed a paycheck.
Even if you do have a wonderful product to sell, sometimes you may not have built up a good enough relationship with your potential customers yet to make them want to buy anything from you.
Second, until you make enough money to outsource some things, you will have to handle all of the gory details of business all by your dang self, which can really suck because you my dear are just one person.
So, if being your own boss sucks so much, why do so many people dream of becoming an entrepreneur?
Well, there are a few answers for that question as well.
People are tired of being treated like crap by bosses who only see them as a number, rather than a human being.
You have to agree, there are not many people who can truthfully say that they love their jobs.
Parents want to have the freedom to actually parent their children, rather than have to rely heavily on daycare centers, grandparents and others to care for their children.
Being in business for yourself means that you can make as much or as little money as you want.
There are honestly no caps.
It all depends on you and how hard you are willing to work.
Yes, sometimes it can get lonely sitting in at home in your office all day hacking away at your computer.
You should consider changing your scenery from time to time.
Make Starbucks your office for the day and enjoy a latte while you work.
Being your own boss does not have to suck.
Here's how to make it a good experience:
Decide early on what tasks you can delegate to someone else and find an intern to help with those tasks. Many times college interns welcome the experience of working with an entrepreneur. You can even pay them a monthly stipend of say, maybe $50 bucks. At least this way, the intern has some money in their pocket and you now have a much lighter work load.
Be sure to take a break. Just as you would at your job, take a lunch break and two, ten to fifteen minutes breaks throughout the day. And when you take these breaks, actually take a break. Leave the office for lunch, close your laptop if you are working remotely and don't do any work during those times. You need a break.
Schedule your day. We all have the same 24 hours. You can't spend all of yours working. Actually take out some time to schedule your working hours, breaks, appointments, etc. This way, you are not overly consumed with work and you won't seem like a social hermit.
Take a vacation. Yes, I said it. You can't work all the dang time. Take a few days for some much needed R&R.
Hopefully this post will help your life as an entrepreneur not suck!

Stop Being Stingy
Fear Of Advertising Will Kill Your Sales
I see it all too often.A good business idea never makes it past the infant stage because the business owner was scared of one thing: the 'a' word.
What is this word that kills so viciously?
This word that causes people to cringe?
It is a word that should make those with something to sell very happy.
Instead, this 'a' word, makes people tingle with fear.
This dreaded word I speak of, is advertising.
Why are so many so called entrepreneurs afraid of spending money in effort to promote their products and service?
I will tell you why.
There are mainly one of three reasons.
They are either broke, stingy or lazy.
It may be harsh, but it is true.
Many entrepreneurs start their businesses on a wing and a prayer, hoping that they will make enough money from the people who find them through word of mouth.
Don't get me wrong, word of mouth is great for advertising, but how are the words of your business going to get into anyone's mouth if they know nothing about you to begin with?
The same goes for authors.
With so many free platforms available for authors to publish their books on, many tend to think that they don't have to advertise; that people will just so happen to stumble upon their books and make them a bestseller.
Uh-uh, nope, not gonna happen captain.
Even if your advertising costs nothing but investing in a domain name that you will use to promote your work, you need to advertise some sort of way.
Stop being so darn stingy, yet expecting people to spend their money with you.
That is not the way the world works.
Even the bible tells us to give and it shall be given unto us.
Now, you're probably reading this and saying, 'Sandra, this is NOT your normal stuff'.
And you're right. Today's a little different.
I am trying to get you to see that if you invest in someone else's business, people will in turn invest in yours.
Whether it's to buy books, purchase a personal training session, whatever.
The rules don't change.
So, here's my challenge to you.
Stop being stingy and start being more supportive.
If someone offers a service you need and it won't break your bank (yes, you must use wisdom), then support them and buy their service. And in exchange, ask them to support you.
I have sold many books this way, as well as other products and services.
So, don't be mad. Be happy that I care enough about you to tell you to step up your game and start doing what the big kids do: advertise and support.
