Want To Sell More Books? Be More Social.

To Succeed As An Author, You Must Connect With Readers.

There is a sad misconception in the publishing industry. Many authors tend to think that just because they wrote a book, success is going to magically find them.

In order to become the success you want to be, you have to learn how to connect with your readers.

The best way to do that is through the use of social media.

Your readers are hanging out on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube and other places online.

Not connecting with them there could prove to not only be detrimental to your book sales, but it could also have the same bearing on your career as an author in general.

People buy from those they know, like and trust.

This is true in the business world as well as in the real world.

If your readers can't find a connection with you, they will not buy your book.

I like to read books of the authors that I have built relationships with.

I have many author friends whose books I have purchase simply because I knew them and wanted to support them. Many of these people I managed to build relationships with via a social media outlet.

As an author, you need to use the power of social media to your advantage.

These outlets should be play a major role in the overall marketing plan of your book.

So how do you use these outlets to foster relationships with potential readers, fans and followers.

Be real. Be unique. Be yourself.

Don't set up a Facebook page just to get likes.

You want to use your Facebook page to actually engage with the people you want to buy your books.

Introduce yourself to people. Answer their questions and let them have a little sneak peak inside your life.

Don't spend all day just tweeting about your book. Nobody wants you selling to them all day.

Remember, the key word in social media is social.

Spend more time talking to your tribe and you will see an increase in both your book sales and profits.

Until next time,

Get Free Exposure for your Book

Hey my fellow authors.

I know it's been a good while since I last posted on this blog.
I didn't realize how much this blog meant to so many new authors.
Until I started getting emails asking me why I didn't do it anymore.

So, I have decided to get back to blogging here on a more consistent basis.

So here's what's changing with this blog:

  • I will still feature new authors who want the exposure for free, but the same rules apply: if I feature you on this blog, you have to share the link on Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets.

  • If you want to be featured on this blog, please feel free to contact me at coachsand@gmail.com; be sure to put 'New Author' in the subject box so I know exactly what your message is about. I get thousands of emails per day and it helps me to know that your email is of top priority.

  • I will send you an email of all the information I will be needing from you. I must have all of the required information from you by the deadline given in order for your feature to run as scheduled.

  • The goal is to feature one author interview per month, but you can submit your books to be featured in the sidebar of this site.Having your book featured in the sidebar is NOT a free service, but it is an inexpensive way to gain exposure for your book as this blog is seen internationally. To have your book featured in the sidebar is just $25.00 and your book will be displayed for one month. You can pay for more than one month if you wish. The book must be available for sale online in order to be featured in the sidebars. If you are interested in advertising your book in the sidebar of this site, please email me at coachsand@gmail.com with 'sidebar advertisement' in the subject line.

I also welcome your questions about self publishing, from marketing to how to self publish in the first place.  You can submit your questions to me directly at coachsand@gmail.com and if I feel that it is a question that many others may have, I will post your question anonymously along with the answer.

So, I am glad to be back. You can look forward to weekly tips and strategies to publish a book that you can be proud of, and make lots of money from.

Until next time,
~Sandra~
